Once you start in Minecraft from the beginning, you need to find basic items and then start using Minecraft Crafting techniques to create everyday objects that are essential for your advancement through the game. Take a look at the recipes below and try them out for yourself. They are very easy to do, you just need to know how to do them, luckily Minecraft Crafting has been designed to be easy, and most materials are easy to find, until you get to the later stages of the game.

Colored blocks	Wool and color dye		Used to make buildings decorative and more interesting. Use the color of your choice you have available to create your favorite colors. For example, Cyan, purple, orange, blue, light blue, pink, brown and green.
Wool	String		To make wool use 4 lots of string. You can then color as stated above.
Map	Compass and 8 sheets of paper		Put these items together to create a map used to navigate parts of the world that have yet to be explored.

Minecraft is a complex game that allows you to build infinite structures, buildings and objects. To do this you need to get used to Minecraft Crafting. This is the term used to describe the action of building objects and buildings from everyday items found within the world of Minecraft.

For example…

You can take 2 sticks of wood and adding 3 of a hard element like stone, such as flint or metals such as gold,steel and iron. For making a pickaxe, you would usually use a metal element such as iron, which is more commonly found than gold anyway. Crafting a pickaxe will allow you to mine other items such as diamonds and gold more easily, later in the game, so this is a basic tool you will most likely want to craft early on in your Minecraft game.

Important things to remember

You must have the items within your game inventory to be able to use them. You can pick up or mine items throughout Minecraft as you go along, so look out for anything that may be useful. Even if you are not looking for something at the time, pick it up, because later you most likely will find a use for it.

The images below show the crafting grids. You have a choice of a 2×2 grid or a 3×3 grid when you are Minecraft Crafting. Choose the smaller one for making smaller objects, the larger grid is for making items that require a span or height of 3 elements, this will become more obvious once you get started.
